We have a long history in sports medicine—we’re dedicated to helping you stay in the game, whatever your game happens to be.

  • Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center doctors have served the East Carolina University athletic department and its athletes for more than 35 years. Currently Dr. Christopher C. Hasty and Dr. Philip S. Perdue, Jr. are providing care for East Carolina University athletes.
  • Dr. Hasty serves as team orthopaedist for the Kinston Indians, a minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Indians.
  • Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center physicians and physician assistants also serve our local community on the sidelines at high school football games.

So whether it’s help with an injury or help preventing injuries, you can turn to Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center for care. And if you’re in organized sports, please remember that athletes can be seen without appointment when referred to us by their coach.

Dr. Barsanti, Dr. Brown, Dr. Duke, Dr. Hasty and Dr. Perdue have earned certification in Sports Medicine from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Perdue and Dr. Brown have completed additional fellowship training in Sports Medicine.
