Weekend Extended Care Clinic

Weekend Care. Weekend Convenience.

We have opened our Weekend Extended Care Clinic at our office on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. By doing so, we strive to create more opportunities for patients to see a provider and avoid the emergency department if you have an urgent orthopedic need.

Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center’s Weekend Extended Care Clinic offers patients with very recent injuries, sprains, muscle pain or fractures the opportunity to be seen without an appointment by an experienced orthopedic provider. The Weekend Extended Care Clinic provides convenient, efficient access to compassionate orthopedic care so you can avoid the time and expense of going to the emergency room.

Appointments

You do not need to call ahead to schedule an appointment. We anticipate expedited services during the weekend clinic, but wait time will be dependent upon the number of patients and their condition.

Staffing

One of our physician assistants experienced in orthopedic care will examine you and order X-rays, physical therapy, or other tests as needed to help diagnose or treat your specific problem. If the physician assistant determines that a physician is needed for your issue, a referral or consult will be made to one of our physicians to determine the best course of treatment.

Billing & Insurance

All Weekend Extended Care Clinic patients must meet our standard practice billing and insurance requirements as during normal office hours.  We do NOT charge a different or higher copay for urgent care services, although we do bill your insurance company for after-hours care.

X-rays & MRI Imaging

If you had X-rays taken at another facility, please bring a physical copy (CD preferred) with you to our Weekend Extended Care Clinic. Otherwise, we may need to repeat your X-rays.
