Benjamin Buterbaugh, DO

About Dr. Buterbaugh

Dr. Benjamin Buterbaugh is a fellowship trained interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine physician who focuses on helping patients reduce pain, regain mobility, and return to the activities that bring them joy. He offers non surgical treatment options for spine and orthopedic conditions and works closely with each patient to develop a personalized plan that reflects their goals and lifestyle.
Building strong relationships is central to Dr. Buterbaugh’s approach. He takes time to listen, understand each patient’s experience, and guide them through treatment options step by step. Whether through image guided injections, medication adjustments, or targeted therapy, he finds great reward in seeing patients return to everyday movement with confidence and less pain.
Dr. Buterbaugh completed his residency at ECU Health and is excited to continue serving patients in Eastern North Carolina. He works within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care model and partners with therapists, radiologists, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Returning to this region feels like home for Dr. Buterbaugh and his family. His wife grew up in Wilmington, and together they love the culture and community of Eastern Carolina. Outside of work, he is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children. Whether relaxing at home or cheering on a favorite team, he values time together and the chance to make memories as a family.
