Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center Amends Name and Logo, Reaffirms Commitment to Area Athletes

GREENVILLE, NC, October 15, 2010 – The physicians at Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center demonstrated their firm dedication to serving both casual and career athletes recently when an update was made to the practice name and logo. Now entitled Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center, the practice will continue to operate from its current location at 810 W.H. Smith Blvd. With nine orthopaedic physicians on staff, including five with additional certification in sports medicine, the practice combines knowledge and experience with innovative treatment options to give each patient the optimum level of care.

Since its founding in 1999, Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center has gained a reputation throughout Eastern North Carolina for ground-breaking care in the areas of Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, and Physical Therapy, as well as in the area of Sports Medicine. For the past 35 years, Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center physicians have provided preventative and post-injury care to ECU athletes, in addition to serving as the official Sports Medicine provider of the Kinston Indians and for the Pitt County School District. In treating a large number of semi-pro, collegiate, prep athletes, and an increasing number of amateur athletes, the physicians at Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center observed a need for a single division devoted to restoring and treating this active group. The Sports Medicine Center gives patients access to targeted care for their specific injuries, including on-site MRI and X-ray equipment, and in-house physical therapy and rehabilitation services. At the center of its philosophy, the Sports Medicine Center at Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center focuses on providing patients with advanced, minimally invasive treatments to get them back to athletics quicker, and healthier.
